Practical advice. Thoughtful choices. Happier dogs.
Welcome to Calm Canine Companion, an independent online resource for everyday dog owners. Founded by author and trainer Gerry Turner, this site provides practical information, hard-won insights, and carefully considered recommendations for canine products, services, and educational resources.
Drawing on over 45 years of practical experience with dogs, CCC aims to help you make informed, confident choices for your pet—without the noise, exaggerated marketing claims, or high-pressure sales tactics.
Our Purpose & Philosophy, At Calm Canine Companion, we believe that understanding your dog’s natural instincts is the key to a peaceful household. Whether you are managing a high-energy puppy, a distracted adolescent, or a dog that struggles to settle at home, the most effective approach is to work with their natural abilities rather than trying to suppress them.
We are not an active training business, behavioral consultancy, veterinary service, or membership organization. Instead, our purpose is simple: to provide useful, trustworthy information that helps ordinary owners navigate the overwhelming world of dog care.
The CCC Recommendation Standard is,Every product, service, or digital resource featured on this website must pass a strict test of usefulness, quality, and relevance.
- Experience First: We base our recommendations on genuine personal experience wherever possible, and transparent research where not.
- Integrity Over Income: Quality and suitability for ordinary dog owners always take precedence over affiliate commissions. We will never recommend a product solely because a commercial relationship exists.
- Clear Disclosures: CCC earns revenue primarily through disclosed affiliate relationships with selected suppliers. Affiliate marketing is our business model; serving dog owners is our purpose.
The Calm Canine Companion Book Series
